The flow of creativity and freedom of expression within Braintapes fuels each member’s dedication to the band. Braintapes’ debut EP Monkeysphere, exposes their unique artistry and is crafted to launch them into success that expands beyond Nashville.
Braintapes founding members Drew D'Oliveira (guitar and vocals), Daniel Dolive (drums),and Stephen Roberts (bass) met freshman year in Maddox Hall at Belmont University. After countless jam sessions, they realized they had unintentionally created something special.
Sophomore year saw the seamless addition of friends Callie McFee (vocals) and Griffin Winton (guitar)-and the band was taped together. The only thing left to do was give it a name. After attending an Elton John concert, Stephen described his experience as memories in the form of VHS-tapes that could be replayed in his brain. Epiphany struck and the band finally had a name: Braintapes.
In support of their EP release, Braintapes have played at various venues including multiple appearances at Nashville’s The End and most recently, a special acoustic set at Café Coco. With every show, they gain more fans who dedicate themselves to promoting Braintapes. With a strong bond between fans and band, Braintapes is destined to be, in singer Drew’s words, “something bigger than themselves”.
